Malcolm Hart (1774-tbc)

Malcolm Hart , is the great grandfather (x5) of the site author Kevin Hart and father of John Hart (1799-1875). Malcolm was born on Christmas Day in 1774 to Hugh Hart and Jean Hamilton who were married on the 4th July 1767.

Malcolm married Isabella Campbell on the 9th October 1795 at the Paisley High Church. The Proclamation entry notes that Malcolm was a weaver.

Baptism records for Paisley also record that Malcolm and Isabella also had a daughter Jean Hart baptised at the Paisley High Church on the 6th February 1803. A detailed search of baptism records did not however reveal any further offspring.

It appears likely that Malcolm passed away prior to commencement of civil registration of deaths in Scotland from 1st January 1855. There are no Scottish records for a Malcolm Hart present in the 1841 Census. Prior to 1855, deaths were registered by parishes of the Established Church (Church of Scotland). There are unfortunately no obvious parish records relating to Malcolm. He does however represent one of the oldest verifiable descendants currently noted on this site.
