John Douglas,
son of George Douglas (tbc) and Sarah Hall Douglas (tbc)
was born in 1825 in Ireland. John's father George was a professional soldier.
John is the great grandfather (x3) of the site author Kevin Hart via his father's
father William Devine Hart.
John married Mary Clelland but to this point we have been unable to ascertain via Scottish statutory
and parish records, when the ceremony was undertaken.
John and Mary had at least 2 children together, Sarah Douglas Donald Devine (described separately on this site) and
John Douglas.
It is almost certain that John and Mary lived their entire life in Hamilton. John's primary occupation was
as a stone quarrier.
John passed away on the 7th December 1886 with his last address recorded as 1 Back Row in Hamilton.
The Informant was his son John who also lived in Hamilton.
