Recent searches on US sites reveal various possible family connections for this Hart family. One such example involves a Robert Hart who was born in 1739 in Paisley - perhaps the brother of Hugh? Robert married a Mary Dick of Spotsylvania County, Virginia in 1775 and they had at least 9 children in the US together.

Another US record which was added in 2001 describes a Malcolm Hart who was born in 1690 at Paisley, Scotland and who married a Jean Cochran. Their son John married a Janet Maxwell in 1738 and one of their 7 offspring, Robert, emigrated to America in 1760 and settled in Scotstown, Hanover County Virginia. It would appear extremely unlikely that within Paisley at this time, the various Hart family branches were unaware of the family members who had, and were considering, emigrating to the US.

The Hart family within Paisley has provided world-renowned painters, the architect / mason for the second oldest Church in Paisley, a famous firebrand minister, the female High Street publican 'Lucky Hart' and of course, the less remembered individuals who are almost lost to history. It remains therefore the duty for current and future generations to continue the search for the origins and legacy of this Paisley family.
