Grace Kerr (1911-Unknown)

Grace Kerr , daughter of James Kerr (1874-1922) and Mary McKelvie Kerr (1875-1940) was born in 1911 in Renfrew.

Grace married William Cecil Hoey on the 2nd of April 1943 in Renfrew who it is believed was a Canadian GI. The apparent lack of any further records of Grace or William within Scottish records supports the family recollection that Grace moved to live with William in Canada.

Grace and Williams's marriage certificate notes that William's parents were John Hoey (Carpenter, deceased) and Janey Hoey (also deceased). William was aged 28 when he married Grace.

Grace's younger sister Elizabeth Kerr was a witness to the ceremony as was a certain Andrew Docherty of 18 Glebe street, Renfrew.
