David Brodie (1896-1944)

David Brodie , son of Alexander Brodie (1850-1920) and Margaret Ferrier Stark (1864-1926), was born on the 6th November 1896 at Broughty Ferry, Dundee and was one of 8 children.

David and Jeanie Hunter (1898-1935) had a daughter Agnes Hunter who was born on the 20th July 1915. At this point however they were not married or living together but this event was soon to follow on the 12th January 1916 at the St David's Church in Dundee. David's profession was noted as a Contractor's Carter - someone employed to transport goods in a horse drawn vehicle, with Jeanie being employed as a Spinner. David had been living at 6 Temple Lane, Dundee.

David's wife Jeanie was to die at the premature age of 37 from Cancer on the 30th September 1935 whilst living at 45 High Street in Paisley. The Informant was their daughter Agnes. David was noted as a Fruit Salesman at this time.

David himself also died at the relatively young age of 47 years on the 4th November 1944 - succumbing to acute pneumonia whilst living in Perth. His brother Alexander who was living at 40 Union Street in Dundee was the Informant. The Death Certificate also identifies that David had married another Jeanie - Jeanie McGuinness.
